TEn Promotes Employee Ownership at National John Lewis Conference

James Sharp, Business Development Director of TEn Insurance, one of the UK’s leading independent broker networks, will be speaking about how to become an employee-owned business at a national conference on the subject organised by retailer, John Lewis, on Thursday 5th February.

Inspire EO is a free one-day conference giving insights into the benefits of employee ownership and advice on increasing staff engagement, productivity and retention as well as networking opportunities. It takes place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

James will be talking alongside representatives from sectors such as recruitment, manufacturing and IT about TEn’s experience of becoming majority-owned by its staff. Other high-profile speakers on the day include Sir Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, Matt Hancock MP, Minister for Business and Iain Hasdell, Chief Executive of the Employee Ownership Association.

TEn converted to employee-ownership last year as a way guaranteeing its staff a greater stake within the business and cementing its independent status for the future.

James Sharp comments: “The benefits of employee-owned businesses are beginning to be better understood. They include better productivity, higher quality products and services and improved financial performance. Having been through the process ourselves, we are very keen that other organisations should understand the benefits and perhaps persuade them to follow a similar path.”
