ALPS announces expansion plans

Auto Legal Protection Services (ALPS), one of the UK’s leading providers of motor claims solutions, legal expenses and additional products, has announced it is expanding its operations with the opening of an additional new office in Congleton in the North West of England.  This supports its recruitment drive, the majority of which is within its claims teams. Headcount has increased by 35% in the past year.

By the end of this year ALPS will have more than 100 staff, with the potential to open further regional offices next year.

ALPS has projected growth of 28% this year, which follows the previous year’s 17% growth figure.

The latest expansion and recruitment drive is as a result of a strategic decision taken last year to provide additional FNOL, delegated authority and motor claims solutions which has already resulted in a number of large deals won this year, including recent claims outsourcing agreements with Clegg Gifford and Thomas Carroll.

For example, in March, ALPS announced an exclusive deal with Clegg Gifford to provide its entire FNOL motor claims service and was awarded delegated authority by Tradex as part of the deal.  In September it announced a deal with Collinson Group to provide roadside assistance to its 700 strong broker network and a deal with Thomas Carroll to provide vehicle replacement cover, motor legal expenses and claims services to its 7,500 motor insurance clients.  ALPS can also announce that it has just signed a deal with Pace Ward Insurance Brokers and The Mansfield Group, a motor recovery agent specialist, to provide a full FNOL claims handling service.

Lee Riley, Managing Director, ALPS said: “We took the conscious decision last year to grow our outsourced claims management business whilst continuing our focus on being the first choice for brokers for their add-on products. This has taken a significant investment in resource and infrastructure, but the result, we’re delighted to say, has been a number of large broker and insurer client wins for us over the past few months.  Given our growth and the increased demand for our services we have expanded our physical footprint and headcount to cater for the growth.  We are proud that despite our growth we have maintained our 95 per cent broker retention rate and it is important to point out that we remain committed to providing an outstanding level of service through ring fenced designated teams, underpinned by our ongoing recruitment and award-winning training initiatives.”

The existing office in Congleton will become its Claims Centre of Excellence where it will continue to place heavy emphasis on both staff and client training & development initiatives.

ALPS continues to win prestigious industry awards year after year as it maintains its outstanding service levels in line with its growth.  This year alone ALPS won Third Party Claims Management Team of the Year at this year’s Claims Excellence Awards and the Modern Claims Award for Outstanding Commitment to Training. It has also just been shortlisted for Outsourced Partner of the Year in this year’s Insurance Times Awards.
